Summer draws to a close...

Having returned from the last weekend at the lake, the summer is officially over. It wasn't even a nice weekend, although Hurricane Ernesto missed us, it was still cool, breezy, and rainy the whole weekend. But alas, that is northern New York in early September I suppose.

Spending time up there always seems to end with my husband calling me a snob. I am not a snob. But I grew up in the suburbs of a major city and he grew up, well, up there, in a town with one traffic light and two gas stations. Two gas stations is a big deal up there apparently. Now we live in the burbs of a small city, but everytime we are up there, I find amusing things to point out to him and he says I am a city girl snob. Case in point, this weekend I noticed driving through a small town(village at best) the following: While driving on Main Street look to your left and there is Ballpark Road, guess what is at the end of it, then look to your right a there is Church Pond Road. Yup you guessed it, a church and a pond. In this same town there was a house that chose to put their swimming pool in their tiny, practically on the road, front yard. Interesting. And their neighbor chose to decorate the garden with a beautiful artistic used tire arrangement. No seriously, this wasn't just, we can't be bothered to move these tires, they were set up purposely as decoration. Seriously. I am allowed to laugh at that I think without being called a snob. I mean really. See you don't normally see that sort of thing in the burbs or city. You see other things, worse things even. But still, I should be allowed to find my amusement where I choose.

Kelly my goodness did you ever have some clever thinking going on there, 3's huh? Yes, very interesting. And yes my address does have a 3 in it. So does my age for that matter. Sorry I disappeared Friday, we decided to leave earlier than expected and it was the only nice day so good thing we got up there early.

Hope you all had and are having a lovely long weekend...

Tires in the front yard you say? Are you sure you didn't take a wrong turn and end up down here in the South? ;)
